Gary Alton Little obituary – The Intelligent

Gary Alton Small, 74, of Quakertown, died May 17, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and family at home. He was the beloved husband of Diane (Wolf) Small with whom they shared 19 years of marriage. Born in Hanover, NH, he was the son of the late Edson W. and the late Glenna E. (Wetherell) Small.

He graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1966. Upon graduation, Gary proudly served in the United States Air Force.

Gary spent over 40 years with Carson’s Helicopter, Inc. as a helicopter mechanic and retired as a foreman. Gary was proud to say that he had spent a total of 50 years in aviation. He was a member of the Springtown Fire Company for over 25 years. He was also a Fire Forest Warden for the State of Pennsylvania for over 30 years.

In his spare time, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He spent many weekends on his Honda Goldwing with his wife. Family was very important to him and he treasured spending time with his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter Ciara’s soccer and lacrosse games. He was also very active in his church where he recently served as chairman of the church board.

Surviving with his wife is his son, Matthew Small (Shelly), his stepsons, William Mory (Kellee) and Kenneth Mory (Jamie), his grandchildren, Rachel, Logan, Christian, Ciara, Caleb, Alexa and JaedaRae. He was predeceased by his son, Michael DePace.

You are invited to visit family and friends of Gary on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951. His service funeral will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Spinnerstown.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spinnerstown, PA Stained Glass Window Fund.
